Sophia Bush, right, with girlfriend and former U.S. soccer player Ashlyn Harris, discussed her sexuality in an open letter in Glamour in April 2024, amid her relationship with Harris. The couple have been reportedly dating since late 2023, months after Bush and Harris' divorces became public. "There were accusations of being a home-wrecker," she wrote. "The ones who said I'd left my ex because I suddenly realized I wanted to be with women — my partners have known what I’m into for as long as I have." The "Good Sam" star and producer said she had always felt connected to the queer community despite not publicly declaring she was a part of it. "I sort of hate the notion of having to come out in 2024," she wrote, although acknowledging visibility helps "in a year when we’re seeing the most aggressive attacks on the LGBTQIA+ community in modern history." She continued: ""I’ve experienced so much safety, respect, and love in the queer community, as an ally all of my life, that, as I came into myself, I already felt it was my home. I think I’ve always known that my sexuality exists on a spectrum." As far as the exact label, Bush said, "I think the word that best defines it is queer. I can’t say it without smiling, actually. And that feels pretty great."

Comedian Wayne Brady came out as pansexual in August 2023. The "Let's Make a Deal" host told People magazine that summer that identifying as pansexual, which refers to individuals who are attracted to others regardless of their gender identity, is the "proper place" for him. "Not only can I be attracted to any of these people or types physically, but I could be attracted to the person that is there," he told the outlet. The "Whose Line Is it Anyway?" star said his coming out journey was an extension of the self-discovery he found through his mental health advocacy work. "Once I opened that door to myself though, I had to start learning about myself, and I had to start owning up to things that maybe I'd either repressed, suppressed, or just didn't want to deal with," Brady said. "I gave joy at work. But the pity is then I come home, and I don't have that joy." Brady said while he’s experienced same-sex attraction in the past, he has “never dated a man.” He was previously married to Mandie Taketa, with whom he shares 20-year-old daughter Maile, as well as Diana Lasso. "I've always pushed that aside because of how I was raised and because I live in today's world, and it's scary," Brady said. "What's the fastest way to hurt another man? … I'm going to call you gay. I'm going to emasculate you." In March 2024, on the red carpet ahead of his hosting gig for the GLAAD Media Awards, he told the same outlet on of the "biggests misconceptions" about pansexuality . "People think that you're an indecisive bisexual," he said.

In April 2021, Emma Corrin took to Instagram to publicly come out as queer. Several months later, they shared their experience of using a chest binder soon after changing their pronouns to "she/they" in their Instagram bio. Later that year, Corrin opened up about their gender identity in an interview with ITV's Granada Reports. "My journey's been a long one and has still got a (long) way to go," Corrin said. "I think that, you know, we're so used to defining ourselves — and that's the way, sadly, society works — is within these binaries and it's taken me a long time to realize that I exist somewhere in between, and I'm still not sure where that is yet." "The Crown" star revealed public backlash over their gender identity and choice of pronouns. "The vitriol is worse than I anticipated" they said in an interview for the June/July issue of Harper's Bazaar, published in May 2024. "Even though we like to think we're in a progressive society, a lot of what we're seeing is increasingly a step back."

The musician announced their divorce at his album launch in June 2023, according to the Los Angeles Times. In August 2023, Mraz recalled how his background influenced the way he presented himself to the world. "I will admit that I probably spent the first close to 20 years of my career just broadcasting as hetero. Saying 'girl' in my songs, and a lot of that is growing up on a conservative street. And growing up around homophobia and feeling like I needed to protect some secret," he told The Advocate. In November 2023, the "I'm Yours" singer told GLAAD that the decision to come out came with a lot of "shame" and "guilt." "You want to heal as many relationships of the past as possible and at the same time, step into this new acceptance and new identity or whatever I’m claiming, and that’s also hard," he said.
